The Pueblo Mágico de Tepotzotlán (Magical Town of Tepotzotlán) is located in the Estado de México, just two hours away travelling by land from Mexico City, making it an ideal destination for a weekend treat. It also has a warm climate most of the year.

Declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, this cozy town invites you to discover its attractions and walk through its cobblestone streets. Get to the Temple of San Francisco Javier and let yourself be surrounded by its Novohispanic Baroque architecture and take a minute to admire the altar, which is carved in gold.
Its interior was lined with altarpieces dedicated to the Passion of Jesus Christ, as well as to San Juan Nepomuceno, San Francisco Javier, the Virgin of Guadalupe and San Ignacio de Loyola, designed by Higinio de Chávez and Miguel Cabrera during the 18th century.
When leaving this temple, we recommend that you walk a few meters to your left to visit the National Museum of the Viceroyalty, where you can see different collections of sacred paintings and sculptures. It also has a permanent exhibition on display called “México Virreinal”.

Declarado como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco, este acogedor poblado te invita a descubrir sus atractivos y caminar por sus calles empedradas. Llega hasta el Templo de San Francisco Javier y déjate envolver por su arquitectura barroca novohispana y admira el altar labrado en oro.
Su interior fue revestido con retablos dedicados a la Pasión de Jesucristo, así como a San Juan Nepomuceno, San Francisco Javier, la Virgen de Guadalupe y a San Ignacio de Loyola, diseñados por Higinio de Chávez y Miguel Cabrera durante el S.VXIII.
Al salir de este templo, te recomendamos que camines unos cuantos metros hacia tu izquierda, para ingresar al Museo Nacional del Virreinato, en el que podrás observar diferentes colecciones de pintura y escultura sacra. También cuenta con la exposición permanente México Virreinal.
